Exciting news - Heidi, Jade and Amelle will be performing at this summer's legendary V Festival!

Sugababes will be playing both dates of the festival, which takes place at Hylands Park in Chelmsford on 21st August and Weston Park in Staffordshire on 22nd August. Other top names on the bill include Florence + The Machine, Kings of Leon, Cheryl Cole, Kasabian and Pixie Lott.

So, I’m doing a parachute jump on 5th March to raise money for Cancer Research! I’ve been wanting to do something for the last few months, because I was supposed to do a 10k run for the charity but I ended up missing it because I was in LA and I’ve felt really guilty about it ever since. It’s a charity that’s really close to my heart ever since my dad passed away, so I really want to earn as much money as possible.

I’m really looking forward to it, but at the same time I’m a bit nervous and my stomach keeps going! I’ve never done anything like that before. Basically I’ve got no choice now, I have to jump out of that plane whether I like it or not, screaming, crying or laughing! It’s going to be amazing, and I’ll be so proud of myself afterwards.

Hello!

So as you know, we had an absolutely amazing time in Barbados. Then since we’ve been back we’ve just been busy rehearsing the new single Wear My Kiss and we’ve done a few gigs too, two in Liverpool, one in Newcastle for T4 and the Cervical Cancer gig at Koko, which was really good. We met Sarah Brown, the PM’s wife, for the second time, and she was really lovely. We were talking about why we were there, our thoughts on lowering the age of getting smear tests from 25 to 20, it was a really positive chat. We got to see a few performances too – Pixie Lott, La Roux, Paloma Faith – Paloma’s absolutely lovely, first time I’ve met her. It was just a really good day and we got a lot of positive feedback about the campaign. I think a lot of people learnt something new that day – when we found out all the facts about cervical cancer we were generally shocked, so it was good to be part of something that affects so many women and to help get the word out there

Today we’ve been at MTV to do some links and a bit of presenting. It’s been really busy but all good. I quite enjoy reading off an autocue, I felt like a proper presenter, you know, I start nodding when someone else is talking and look to camera occasionally, all that! So watch out for that on MTV!

An Update From Jade

Hi everyone

Hope 2010 is going well for you so far! We had a nice little break over Christmas in Barbados. We were supposed to be there for a few days to play a gig, but we ended up staying for a holiday, which was just amazing. Did lots of relaxing, drank a few cocktails, you know…we’ve been back a couple of weeks now and it’s been going really well, but I’d kind of got used to lying in bed ‘til 12 and now it’s back to 5 or 6am starts, so that’s been a bit of a shock!

I also managed to spend some time with my family. My mum recently had an operation, so she was recovering from that and I was helping to look after her. I went to see friends too, and I’ve got a godson who was only born last year so it was brilliant to spend time with him too.

It’s definitely been a shock coming back to the cold from Barbados, I felt like we went from one extreme to another. I’ve discovered that when it’s really, really cold I get earache! My whole eardrum was killing me, so that wasn’t fun. My little cousin’s got these massive Rudolph earmuffs that I was eyeing up, but I decided that they weren’t exactly cool!

Sugababes at the Fight Cervical Cancer in Style event.

The Sugababes made an appearance at a recent charity event, Fight Cervical Cancer in Style, which coincided with European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week. As the faces of this national campaign the girls were helping to educate women about cervical cancer, so they can better understand the risks and how to reduce them.

Celebrities from the worlds of music, television and fashion joined forces at an exclusive event on Wednesday 27th January 2010 in a showcase of some ‘must-have’ designer collections from the fashion world alongside music performances by some of the best young female acts in the UK with our very own Sugababes as the headliners.

Sugababes to Perform at Fight Cervical Cancer In Style Event

We can now announce that the Sugababes will be performing at an exclusive event for Fight Cervical Cancer In Style on 27th January in London. The girls will be performing live at the show, which aims to raise awareness among women about cervical cancer, which is the most common cancer in women aged 20--29. They are joined La Roux, Pixie Lott and Paloma Faith who will all be adding their support to this worthy cause.

Sugababes Performing At Outside-In Festival

Sugababes will be kicking off the New Year by performing at a brand new winter festival.

The Outside-In Festival is five hours of non-stop chart topping music at The Sage Gateshead on Saturday 30th January. There are only 3000 tickets, so you’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some amazing artists. You might also be able to spot yourself on TV when the event is broadcast on Channel 4’s T4, 4Music and The Box!

Other artists already confirmed include N-Dubz, Tinchy Stryder, Taio Cruz, Pixie Lott, Lostprophets, Alphabeat with loads more names to come.

The Babes' Plans For Christmas

We caught up with Heidi, Jade and Amelle to find out how they'll be spending Christmas.

Amelle:

I'm going back to my home town and we're going to have a proper family Christmas. My nephews are going to be there which'll be great… just going to have a nice chilled out day - you know, great TV, you watch all the classic movies, lots of good food. It's just going to be really nice and relaxed.

Jade:

I always spend Christmas with my family. Every year I get irritated for the same reason, which is that my little brother does not like to wake up until like 3 in the afternoon, he sleeps forever! My mum has this thing that no one is allowed to open any presents until everybody's up and has had breakfast. So you can imagine I'm like, 'PLEASE can you just wake up!' So I'll probably be doing that Christmas morning, and then we'll just chill out – you know pyjamas, eat loads, watch TV, loads of friends come round as well, just have a good family day.

Heidi:

I'm going to be at home in Liverpool with the family. We usually get up and have a champagne breakfast, and then our family always gets dressed up for Christmas lunch, so I need to get a new dress for that. The rest of the family come over in the evening, and we just chill out really. I think I'm going to spend New Year's Eve at home – in our flat we've got a lovely roof terrace and it overlooks the London Eye and Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, so we get to see all the amazing fireworks. We did that last year and it was brilliant so I just want to do exactly that again!

The Babes On Xmas Shopping

With such a hectic schedule for the Babes at the moment, we wondered whether they've had chance to get their Christmas shopping done yet! We caught up with them in-between photoshoots to ask how it's going…

Amelle:

Oh my god, I'm so bad, Jade's basically finished hers, Heidi has got some but needs to get a couple more things, and I have done nothing, NOTHING!! I was saying to the girls a few weeks ago, ‘this is the one time I'm going to do it beforehand, I'm going to be so organised'. But then the only day off I had the other week, I didn't leave the house! I just wanted to relax, chill out and watch some TV. So hopefully in the next week or so we're going to have a day off and I'll have a chance to get every single person's presents. But I've been mentally taking notes of what I think people want … I'm going to make a list and hopefully tick them all off!

Jade:

I've done mine!! Normally I'm so unorganised and every year I leave it till about three days before Christmas, and then I'm running around like an idiot! I've only been organised this year because I looked at our diary and saw that we don't have any more days off, so when we got a day off last week I got everything done in one day. I just went to Westfield and I was like, ‘right! I'm getting it all done'. I feel relieved! My mum recently had a hip replacement because she's got quite bad arthritis, so I got her a full body electric heated massager. And for my sister, I've got her a voucher for this thing called a Brazilian Blow-Dry, and basically what it does is it coats your hair in something called Keratin, which is what your hair is naturally made of so it completely smoothes out every split end, it makes it really shiny and glossy and it lasts for three months! I'm not going to say what I've got Heidi and Amelle just in case they read it! I've even wrapped them all up. That's my favourite bit actually, ‘cause I love doing anything that's a bit arts and crafty, so I take time doing the wrapping and the bows and the ribbons and stuff.

Heidi:

I'm not doing too badly actually. I've got a list and I'm slowly ticking things off, but I still got a few more to get so I'm going to have to find some space to get out there and get the rest of it done. I haven't got Dave's presents yet. We're going on holiday in January, which I'm really, really excited about, so that's kind of our main present to each other, and I've got an idea of something to buy him as an extra thing... he's got a games room in the house and loves all that kind of stuff, so there's something I think I'll get him to go in there. Not going to tell you what it is in case the surprise gets ruined!

Hi everyone!!

Thought I'd fill you in on what's been going on with us recently. The last couple of weeks we've been very busy...on Tuesday we recorded TOTP Christmas Specials for Christmas Day and NYE, so that was lots of fun. There were lots of other bands there like JLS and Florence and the Machine and we actually got chance to chat to them which was really cool, because mostly when we do gigs and TV shows we never get to see other bands or artists, so it's a bit lonely! But recently we've seen Florence quite a lot, Tinchy I see a fair bit anyway, bumped into Taio quite a bit, we've been seeing Chipmunk loads and we've seen JLS about once ever other day, it's getting quite ridiculous now!

We've also been rehearsing and then doing the performance for Jingle Bell Ball at the weekend, which was brilliant. We did five songs and had a really good time. Yesterday we were in a photoshoot all day for a celebrity style magazine, so that was pretty fun as well - we're really happy with the shots and everything, so all good!

We're off to Scotland today, then we're shooting the video for the next single on Monday which we're really, really excited about, and then we've got the Rock With Laughter gigs next week. And then we finish up for Christmas and we're having a Sugababes Christmas party! Can't wait.

Sugababes countdown to Christmas in Birmingham!

The completely free concert will be staged at Millennium Point on Saturday November 14th, and will also feature such massive acts as JLS, Chipmunk and The Noisettes!

The compilation album, available only in HMV stores and at HMV.com, is a chance for acts to showcase a song that has inspired them to be the musicians they are today, and the girls are in good company on the record, featuring alongside James Morrison, Stereophonics, Girls Aloud and The Saturdays.

The first two dates take place at the LG Arena at the NEC, Birmingham on 18th and 19th December and the last date will be at Wembley on December 22nd.

8am Friday 16th October 2009

Unfortunately, Amelle has been forced to take an unexpected short break away from the pressures of work, following some professional medical advice earlier this week. It seems that with all the recent events in the band right up to Jade joining us a few weeks ago, the stress over a period of months has unfortunately taken its toll on Amelle and she is now suffering from a severe bout of nervous exhaustion.

For the next 3 weeks, Amelle will be staying at a private health clinic in Europe where she will be able to rest and recuperate under expert supervision. We’re expecting her to return to work in full health by the beginning of November.

Heidi: “Both Amelle and I have been through a very traumatic time together in recent months and particularly over the past few weeks. Having the opportunity to move forward with Jade was a major factor in us both deciding to carry on as Sugababes. And judging from the thousands of well wishes we have received from you, our fans, we are delighted that we made the right decision. However, the months leading up to that decision certainly took their toll, especially on Amelle, and it seems like
it’s now all caught up with her.�

Jade: “We’ve got a hectic schedule of promotional commitments ahead of us to launch our next single on 9th Nov and the album on 23rd Nov. We’re about to go into the run up to Christmas, so we’re glad that Amelle is getting the right support now to help her return to work at such a busy time.�

Unfortunately, this means that our fans expecting to see our debut live performance at Leeds this Sunday for Aire FM will be disappointed by the band not being able to perform. However, we will still be coming up to meet our Leeds fans and send on your well wishes to Amelle. We’re also sad to be missing out on a TV show that we were due to perform in Germany this Saturday but our label are trying to re-book this for November.

Although we know this news all comes as a huge disappointment to Sugababes fans, we really do have to treat Amelle’s welfare as our priority at times like this. She has the love and support of everyone around her including family, friends, bandmates, management and the label and we’re sure our fans will join us in wishing her a speedy recovery.

On November 29th T4 will be rocking up to London’s Earls Court to launch a brand new live extravaganza that celebrates the ‘Stars of 2009’. The Sugababes have been confirmed as one of 2009’s hottest acts and will be joining the T4 team on the day amongst a host of other stars.

The show will take place between 11am and 6pm and include performances from Tinchy and Chipmunk, JLS, La Roux, Calvin Harris, Alexandra Burke, La Roux, Diversity and of course, The 'babes.

Other highlights of the day will be celebrity DJ sets, a Rimmel catwalk and a load of celeb guests telling you why 2009 rocked for them!

The show will take place at London's O2 Arena on December 5th, and the Babes will be performing alongside such massive names as Lady Gaga, JLS, Lily Allen and Taio Cruz.

Important Announcement, Scottish Royal Variety Performance

With great personal regret, Sugababes will not be able to participate as headline act at this Thursday’s Scottish Royal Variety Performance.

Following the recent and well documented change of line-up to Sugababes, there are a number of legal issues to be finalised by all parties in order that the band can move forward.

Sadly, whilst these negotiations are approaching completion, it will not be possible for the band to finalise its business affairs prior to Thursday’s event.

Heidi, Amelle and Jade wish to extend their most sincere and personal apologies for the inevitable inconvenience and disappointment that this decision will bring to the organisers and producers of the show and, not least of al,l their many Scottish fans who were looking forward to seeing the exciting new line-up’s first live performance.

As a gesture to all those who have been disappointed by this unavoidable decision, Sugababes have agreed to perform a gig at a future date (TBA), the profit of which will be donated towards the Scottish Royal Variety’s chosen charity; the Royal Blind Society.

This charity is particularly close to Jade’s heart for very personal reasons.

Jade commented, “This is such a disappointment to all of us because not only were we looking forward to this being our very first gig together, but my dad happens to be blind and my mum is partially sighted, and I know firsthand the great work the charity does for families like mine. That’s why Heidi, Amelle and I have agreed to put on our own gig to support this massively worthwhile cause. We can’t wait to visit Scotland in the near future!”

Sugababes manager confirmed, “This was indeed an unavoidable decision of a contractual nature but I am delighted to confirm that all other band engagements are due to resume next week when it will be business as usual for Sugababes!”.

WHY I LOVE SUGABABES CHALLENGE

I love the Sugababes for more reasons than i could possibly name, but here are a few of the key ones. Each album they produce not only marks a new direction for the Sugababes, it marks a new direction for music in the UK. They have been at the fore front of British music for a decade, writing, singing and (now) gyrating their way to the top of the charts. They effortlessly fit into any genre or sub-genre you can name; pop, R&B, electro-pop, garage, reggae, soul and many more. In fact, they do not just fit into these genres, fuse them and they redefine them.

I feel like the Sugababes have grown and developed as I have grown and developed. They are always fresh and never dull. I have never failed to be amazed at their music. They cheer me up when i feel sad, they get me on the dance floor when no other artist can. They have been around for 10 years, had six number one singles, survived two line up changes and are still getting better and better, how many bands can claim this? Especially in today's musical climate! It is an even more remarkable achievement, when you stop to think they are an all girl pop group! Well, that's how they started out, but they have grown into so much more. They have become an unstoppable musical force.

This is why I, and the rest of the UK, love the Sugababes.

I have loved the sugababes ever since their very first single "Overload" whey back in 1999. a decade later and there music is still better then ever new single "Get Sexy" is awesome and asking to be number 1. Their unique sense of music and beat has made them warm to lots of people hearts including mine. Me being one of their biggest fans has seen them change their style of music numerous times, some people could think a change in music is a bad thing but they risked it and it paid off for them every time giving them 6 number one hits and have released 25 singles 16 of which have reached top 10 positions all of these i have loved and i know all the words to all there songs i have been to all there tours and can not wait for there next tour hopefully in 2010. Each of the members past and present each bring a new dynamic to the band giving them a fresh new look boosting there confidence and success.

I love the sugababes because they are the three most inspirational girls I know. Their lyrics are easy to relate to and are based on true life. Also they prove that dreams can come true if you work hard enough to get them, as the sugababes road to success hasnt been easy but they have pulled through as the amazing girls they are. Amelle, Keisha and Heidi all bring their own aspects to the babes. From Keisha's sweet attitude :) to Heidi's not so innocent attitude to Amelle's rebelious side. Amelle adds her signature vocals to a stand out track and Tinchy says, ‘The song needed a sweet-sounding girl, and Amelle’s voice fitted the part perfectly. It wasn’t even a case of getting any Sugababe — it had to be her!’

Tinchy got together with N Dubz for the track ‘Number 1’ and Taio Cruz on ‘Take Me Back’. The new track will feature Amelle’s vocals and will be Tinchy’s first female collaboration since making the big time. We’ll let you know when we have more news.

The Sugababes LA trip continues and the Girls are really excited about the new material they have been recording. They can’t wait to get back to the UK to play some tracks to their record label plus they’ve been busy filming lots of footage which will be edited into some YouTube clips soon too. After a final night out in London to celebrate Amelle’s 25th Birthday the Sugababes have packed up their stuff and headed to LA to get down to the serious business of making album No. 7!!

Heidi, Amelle & Keisha jetted off yesterday and will spend the next 6 weeks meeting with top producers, writing and laying down tracks in the studio.

The Sugababes stepped up this weekend to provide some stunning entertainment at the wedding of Jade Goody. Having been asked by Jade to perform the girls played a brilliant set to Jade’s gathered friends and family who by all accounts had a wonderful time. The Sugababes performed free of charge at the event and were thanked this morning by Jade’s representative Max Clifford on GMTV.

Jade is currently battling cervical cancer and has lent her support to a new SUN campaign to raise awareness of the disease and lower the screening age, click here for further info.

The Sugababes were at London’s Natural History Museum yesterday to lend their support to the Fashion For Relief show organised by Naomi Campbell to raise funds for the White Ribbon Alliance. They joined the likes of Daisy Lowe, Kelly Osbourne, Erin O'Connor, Kimberly Stewart, Vivienne Westwood and Cilla Black on the catwalk for the charity event and despite Heidi losing one of her heels the girls shined !! Sugababes Q Gig On Sale Now

The Babes show on Oct 1st at London's Kentish Town Forum is on sale now. The gig will see the girls join the likes of Keane and Razorlight as part of a newly-launched series of Q shows and part of the build up to the Q Awards 2008 which take place in London on Monday October 6th.
